
Shawn joined AESC in July 2005. He received a Bachelor of
Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University in
1999. He then went on to acquire a
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University in 2004.
After completing his degrees, he completed a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery
internship at the University of Pennsylvania, Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary
Teaching Hospital. Shawn also has experience working as a relief veterinarian
for emergency clinics in Austin, TX and Philadelphia, PA. His areas of interest
are metabolic/endocrine diseases and endoscopy.
Prior to becoming a Veterinarian, Shawn also worked as an
ICU veterinary technician at Texas A&M University for 4 years.
Shawn is married and has 2 spoiled-rotten dogs (Balboa and
Isis). His wife, Marissa, is a Certified
Veterinary Technician – they met during his internship. They are expecting their first son in April
2008. His hobbies include wood
working/building, photography, skiing, camping, and home improvement.
